An Engagement Party in a Vibrant, Colorful (Indoor) Flower Garden
To celebrate their engagement, my wonderful clients, Aram and Lilit wanted to welcome their guests into a space that felt romantic and full of life, so we created a stunning fairytale flower garden for them inside a ballroom at the Renaissance Event Venue. What a night! The atmosphere drew oohs and ahhs from all in attendance and created the perfect mood for celebration!
To create a lush and abundant look for this indoor flower garden, I incorporated a few key design elements…
Loose, romantic, textured arrangements: All of the floral arrangements and installations were large, dramatic and overflowing with blooms like roses, tulips, wisteria, orchids, hydrangea, amaranth and flowering kale. The arrangements were densely layered in organic, flowing shapes in order to create as much texture and movement as possible.
A vibrant color palette: I not only used a large quantity of flowers, but I also had fun showcasing multiple hues to create a vibrant, expansive color palette. Each core color - pink, purple and green, were represented in numerous shades. Purple became grape, plum and lilac, and pink became blush, rose and fuchsia.
Multiple shades of green helped to tie the whole room together. Green velvet dining chairs surrounded the dining tables, and every floral arrangement featured either dark, glossy greenery, or bright, chartreuse green hydrangea, orchids or amaranth.
Atmospheric details: Within this expansive ballroom, we needed to create an intimate and luxurious atmosphere, so additional decor details came into play. Soft upholstery, thick table linens and and rich blue draping along the walls softened the room’s lines and architecture. Golden candle light and glittering chandeliers added warmth, sparkle and a little bit of magic!
