Spring & Easter Floral Décor: Inspiration & DIY Video

Spring is a season of rebirth and rejuvenation, and after a long winter we’re often ready for it to arrive earlier than many flowers are actually ready to bloom! Because of that, I love to use a combination of dried botanicals, silk flowers and fresh flowers when making arrangements for Easter or just for celebrating the season.

In this DIY video I’ll show you how to make a group of fun, whimsical spring floral arrangements that you can use to decorate your home for Easter, or to give as a charming hostess gift when you’re visiting your loved ones.

Here are three important spring floral design tips!

1. EXPERIMENT WITH SILK & DRIED FLOWERS

We traditionally think of soft pinks and greens when it comes to spring, but don’t forget that those colors pair beautifully with some unexpected tones like earthy browns and creams, or pops of more vibrant peach, coral and periwinkle blue! This is where silk flowers and dried botanicals can really come in handy. I don’t typically use silk flowers as my main component in up-close arrangements, but they are ideal as small accents when you want blooms that are out of season or that have unique and hard to find color palettes. In this video you’ll see that I use a few silk cherry blossoms and various dried botanicals in my arrangements for the perfect spring detail.

2. PERSONALIZE YOUR PROPS

Simple props and accessories can add big impact to your designs! I found some very sweet but inexpensive bunnies and quail eggs to use in these spring arrangements, and they helped tie everything together. My biggest tip here is to make them your own! Anytime you find props to use, look for ways to change up their accents to make everything look personalized. For example, I removed the blue ribbon that the small ceramic bunny containers came with and I added my own wide pale pink ribbon. I love the way they turned out!

3. DESIGN IN MULTIPLE LEVELS

To create the most impressive collection of arrangements, I made sure to utilize multiple different levels in my grouping as well as in each of my individual designs. From the multi-leveled garden arrangement, to the the tall, narrow rustic pail, to the tiny and compact bunnies filled with roses, it’s satisfying to the eye to take in details at multiple heights.
