Pantone Color of the Year: 3 Creative Ways to Use Peach Fuzz in Event & Decor Design

The 2024 Pantone Color of the Year has been announced: Peach Fuzz!

Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, describes it this way, “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

I love designing with the color peach for its warmth and welcoming energy, and for its versatility. There are so many ways to use the color peach in event and home decor design, from classic and elegant to wild and whimsical. Really, the sky’s the limit. Here are three creative ways to think outside the box and use peach in fun and unexpected ways…

1. Incorporate Real Peaches Into Your Designs

Ready to get playful? Find unexpected ways to incorporate actual peaches or other peach-colored fruits into your event design. Use peaches as seating card displays, place setting accents or woven throughout your floral arrangements. Give a take-home favor of delicious summer peaches packaged up with a bow, or use them in your party’s drinks and desserts. Have fun with it!

2. Play With Unexpected Peach Color Palettes

Peach looks incredible with pink, cream and other traditional soft colors, but why stop there? Try pairing it with other, unexpected colors and see how it comes to life.

3. Incorporate Peach Decor Items with Varying Textures

The “peach fuzz“ color name evokes the feel of a soft fuzzy texture, so play that up in your designs! Texture is an integral part of any event or home design, and introducing items and accents in multiple textures will make each one stand out and delight the senses. Here are a few peach items from my Home Decor Collections at EZLD.co that range from a warm and velvety texture to shiny reflective glass. And don’t forget what incredible texture faux and dried botanicals like pampas grass can add to a peach decor concept - it’s one of my favorite ways to play with a peach color palette.
